Education & Experience
Victoria Masone is a graduate of Tufts University and holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering. She completed graduate studies at Northeastern University in Civil and Environmental Engineering and is a licensed Professional Engineer in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. She is also a certified Grade 5C wastewater treatment plant operator and Grade 2D drinking water operator in MA. Her breadth of experience ranges from working onsite at Superfund site cleanups to working as an engineer in a small Public Works Department in the Town of Swampscott, MA. She has spent time in multiple water and wastewater treatment plants and associated infrastructure, and strives to always view projects as both an engineer and an operator.
Ms. Masone has also developed a notable resume of energy efficiency and renewable energy projects. As the municipal employee liaison to the Swampscott Renewable Energy Committee from 2006-2013, she assisted in acquiring grant money for a wind power feasibility study, getting Swampscott designated as a Green Community by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, negotiating and managing the construction of a $1M Energy Performance Contract, negotiating and administering a Power Purchase Agreement for 450 kW of solar PV on two municipal buildings, and installing and commissioning a 75 kW cogenerator to provide alternative energy to Swampscott High School, for which the Swampscott School District enjoys the revenue from Alternative Energy Credits (AECs) quarterly. Through work with the volunteer committee Ms. Masone has learned how to execute projects in the unique municipal arena with residents, town officials, and state and federal agencies.
